AN ECHUCA man was jailed for five months after a crime spree across the region.
Jaike Wallace, 28, appeared in Melbourne Magistrates Court last month charged after a string of burglaries, theft and criminal damage offences in March and April.
The charges include criminal damage at Rochester’s SportsPower and Mitre 10 and burglary, theft and criminal damage at Caltex service station, criminal damage and theft at Kyabram’s Squirters Car Wash and burglary and theft at Kyabram Subway all on March 23.
On April 17, he committed another burglary at Subway and burglary and theft at Kyabram IGA and three counts of theft from a vehicle at Echuca’s Department of Primary Industries in Annesley St.
He also broke into Tongala IGA and stole items on Easter Sunday and later stole a car from St Albans before being arrested in the stolen car in Tongala later that day.
He has been in custody since then.Wallace was sentenced to 150 days imprisonment, with time served in custody, and ordered to complete a 12-month community corrections order.
