Soundshell opening delayed

April 19, 2018

Junkestra composer Graeme Leak says the week delay has let the group perfect their performance.

TORRENTIAL rain forced the grand opening of Girgarre’s Gargarro Soundshell back a week.
Originally scheduled for last weekend, the opening will now take place this Saturday night.
Junkestra composer Graeme Leak has assured everyone it’s only the date which has changed.
“We’ll be having the exact same program, just a week later,” he said.
“During our dress rehearsal last week I noticed some off notes so the week has given us the chance to fix that up.”
The 40-minute junkestra performance will feature cameo appearances from regional groups including the CFA, Girgarre Line Dancers and the Rushworth and District Concert Band.
The grand opening will be held on Saturday, April 21.
It is a free event, with food vans on site. Bring your own drinks, a camping chair and blanket.
Gates open at 6pm with pre-show entertainment kicking off at 6.45pm.
The concert starts at 7.30pm, with audience members invited to join in a ‘Jigarre Jam’ singalong afterwards.
