January 10, 2018

UPDATE 8:14am:

A SHED was ablaze when police including the Clandestine Laboratory Squad executed a warrant at a Rushworth property.

As part of an ongoing drug investigation a Cornella property and a Rushworth property were searched.

When police attended the Rushworth property after 1.30pm, a shed was on fire.

‘‘The shed became fully involved and then asset protection was undertaken,’’ the spokesperson said.

‘‘At 2.35pm it was declared safe and under control ... crews were monitoring and mopping up for an hour or so.’’

A visitor to the property arrived at 4pm and was searched by police and later arrested.

A Cornella man, 33, was taken to Goulburn Valley Health in Shepparton with burns as a result of the fire.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics were called and they took a man with minor burns to hospital in a stable condition.

At 5pm, Goulburn Valley Health spokeswoman Carmel Johnson said the man was still being assessed, but remained in a stable condition.

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information is urged to contact crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
