SADDLE up for a night of yodelling, comedy, storytelling and a generous dash of 60s rock and roll – Kyabram has a country music treat coming your way.
Country stars Wayne Horsburgh and Rodney Vincent are teaming up for a Variety Country Music Show at Kyabram Bocce Club.
Wayne, who has spent many years in “Music City” Nashville, Tennessee, was presented with the prestigious Australian country music award the “Roll of Renown” in 2013, as well as being inducted into Tamworth’s “Hands of Fame”.
Rodney Vincent was voted Victorian Country Music Entertainer of the Year in 2006 and has toured with household names including Col Elliott, The Four Kinsmen, The Delltones, as well as being special guest on five Australian tours with American rock and roll legend Gene Pitney.
Both Wayne and Rodney were inducted into the South Australian Country Music “Hands of Fame” at the Barmera Country Music Festival in 2011.
With resumes like this, it’s no wonder organiser Rae Matthews is excited about the upcoming show.
“Kyabram’s very lucky to have two top acts coming to town for only $20. It’s promising to be an incredible night,” she said.
“Brenton and Bianca from Hurley’s Hotel are helping to sponsor the event, which we’re so thankful for.”
Rodney Vincent said he can’t wait to perform in our town.
“It’s going to be a great show. Wayne and I have been friends for many years since our band days began in Benalla and Wangaratta,” he said.
“We’ve combined our shows together to make something pretty magical.
“We’re all about the audience. When people leave with smiles on their faces, that’s what it’s all about.”
The Variety Country Music Show will be held at Kyabram Bocce Club on Thursday, September 14 from 6pm.
Tickets cost $20 each and can be booked in advance and picked up on the night.
No table bookings, with first in best dressed. To book, phone Rae Matthews on 0400 980 968.
